Where to next

January 17th had me visiting with a keen group of students at the Niagara-on-the-lake College Campus.
With a focus on conservation and environment, my presentation went through the biosecurity measures I was required to have in place before the South G government gave me permission to kayak South Georgia. We also discussed some of the already in place mitigation measures which are helping reduce the by-catch of seabirds particularly in New Zealand and Australia and of course a look at how individuals can help make a difference.

January 18th I found myself standing on stage at the St Catharines Collegiate Secondary School holding a roll of toilet paper. Dean and Arnie were unable to make it to this presentation therefore I used the t.p to demonstrate the wingspan of the Wandering Albatross compared to a Common Gull. What an attentive and curious audience who nearly filled the schools auditorium and could have filled an hour with questions had we had the time.

I was unable to establish any concrete presentation plans in Ottawa so for now we will stay put in the Niagara region, Dean will be working soon and I have to get myself to B.C for a presentation in mid Feb. I will be speaking at the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival around Feb 15th. Arnie will be taking it easy over the next wee while, infact right now he is basking in the cool Niagara air (and snow).

Take care everyone and thanks for keeping in touch. More soon.
Cheers
Hayley
